MacIntyre, a left-footed defender who can play left-back, wing-back or left wing, has been in fine form for the Wee Hibees this season, which has led to him regularly training with the First Team this season. Some supporters may also have recognised his name from the substitutes’ bench this season.

Harbouring First Team ambitions, MacIntyre knows how integral it is to perform well with the U18s and that he did as they continued their push for the title with a 1-0 win over Hamilton on Friday night.

“We had to really dig in to be honest, it was quite a hard first half for us,” admitted the youngsters as he reviewed the game.

“The second half I think we pushed on a bit and looked like the team that was going to score.”

The full back was very happy with the defensive performance, and the resilience shown to keep a clean sheet.

“If we are keeping a clean sheet, it gives us more confidence just to keep going forward and to create more chances.”

With four wins and a draw in their last five games, Oscar says the team believes they can go on to win the league.

“We’re very confident, obviously we still have a few games to go but we just need to keep going and keep winning.”
