Lia becomes the sixth new face at Hibs Women this summer, with Benni Haaland, Ailey Tebbett, Lucy Parry, Liana Hinds, Nor Mustafa, Krystyna Freda, Crystal Thomas, Ava Kuyken, Eleni Giannou and Poppy Lawson all having been previously been announced.
However, the 24-year-old will immediately join Queens Park WFC on loan for the 2022/23 SWPL 2 season.
Tweedie started playing for Hibs Girls Academy at the age of just 11. She then was provided with the opportunity at first team level to make her debut aged 16. Throughout her time at the club, Lia scored some vital goals to lead the Hibees to victory. Making the move from Gorgie back to Leith, Lia is more than ready to kick on and impress.
Speaking about her return, Lia said: “I’m delighted to be back where it all began for me, it feels like home. The girls, Dean and all the staff have all been super welcoming and it’s really exciting to see the progress the club has made in terms of professionalism while I’ve been away.”

“I believe the structure that’s in place, alongside the high calibre of players around me will allow me to grow so much as a player. Playing for Hibs again and especially scoring a few goals during pre-season was really rejuvenating and allowed me to enjoy playing football again.”
“I’m looking forward to going on loan to Queen’s Park, where I’ll be able to improve my sharpness and return match fit and ready to secure my name on the Hibs team sheet for competitive fixtures in the future. I can’t wait to be a part of what the future holds at this club.”
Dean Gibson also commented: “Lia is firstly a brilliant person and more importantly a good player. We had originally planned to just offer Lia, training facilities to get herself fit over pre-season. Quite quickly we could see the talent Lia has as a player."
"The most important thing just now is Lia training in a competitive environment and getting regular game time elsewhere. We are confident this model will get Lia back to the level where she belongs. It’s good to have her back at the club.”
