ABOUT SIDEY

Fenestration specialists Sidey is set to celebrate its 90th Anniversary in August and Sidey’s Joint Managing Director, Steve Hardy reflects on how the business has changed over the years.

“We were first established in 1932 as a small glazing firm based in Perth. I’ve been with Sidey for over 26 years, having originally joined the company in January 1996 in the retail sales department and then started the Trade, Newbuild and Commercial divisions in November 1998.

“In the time that I’ve been with Sidey we have expanded into the sectors I’ve previously mentioned. Our product range has vastly improved and increased over the years and can offer colours and solutions we could never have dreamed of 5-10 years ago. The size of the business has also significantly increased to become the largest window and door manufacturer and installation company in Scotland, with our products being supplied throughout the UK and sometimes even further afield.

“Some of the company’s biggest achievements over the years include being in business for over 90 years, this is an achievement that not a lot of companies hold claim to. For example, to successfully steer through numerous recessions, and latterly for the business to recover from the lockdowns and other economic pressures caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in the way it has and then we go on to post record results for our last financial year, which is just completed, is truly remarkable.

“Becoming the number one choice for our customers, with customer satisfaction rates of more than 98% across the sectors we serve is also a fantastic achievement.”
