After the emphatic 4-0 victory against Hamilton last weekend, Gibson talked about how the positive result reflected upon the players in training throughout the week.
‘There’s a good buzz to the group. I think we started the week in a better spirit than we did previously, but that’s what winning games does, and that win on Sunday has done a lot for the group.’
‘We’re in a good place and as the weeks progress, you’ll start to see us become stronger and stronger.’
With Liana Hinds arriving in the capital, Kirsty Morrison returning to the training ground and Siobhan Hunter having served her suspension – the Hibs manager could benefit with the larger selection of players at his disposal.
‘In terms of players we’re available to select, everyone’s here. Liana has fitted in well and we can already see her qualities. It's good to have that squad size now and have everyone available so I'm excited to see where this group can go.’
After Eilidh Adams made her 50th competitive appearance for Hibernian last Sunday, with the forward also making her way onto the scoresheet, her manager also took great delight in continuing the praises of the talented youngster after she was selected for Scotland’s U-19 squad on Thursday.
‘I’m really proud. Eilidh was my first signing at Hibs back in the girl's academy so we’ve come through the same path and the same journey together. I’m not surprised she’s a first team player. She’s got a huge future in the game, and we’re so fortunate to have her at Hibs.’
In the buildup to the match at Meadowbank, Gibson once again emphasized the work rate and concentration needed by his players, if they were to take anything from the game on Sunday.
‘Motherwell is always a tough fixture. We’re fully aware of the improvements they’ve made, but at the same time they’ve always been a good side.’
