The 22-year-old goalkeeper penned a season-long loan deal with the Club, after it was announced Kevin Dabrowski has picked up a shoulder injury.

The shot-stopper has spent the majority of his career in English football, featuring for Huddersfield Town in the English Championship, FA Cup and English League Cup. He also spent half a season with Notts County in League Two and a short spell with Livingston FC in Scotland.

Now back in Scotland, this time in green and white, Schofield is excited to make his return to Scottish Football.

He said: “I am delighted to be here. It all happened very quickly but I am delighted to get the move done.

“I have been in Scotland before and the size of Hibs as a Club really impressed me - as well as the fanbase.

“At Livingston I really enjoyed it, but Hibs was the right move. I loved the City of Edinburgh when I was here last time and the Stadium really impressed me when I was here before. I am looking forward to seeing that atmosphere first-hand."

Schofield will provide cover for David Marshall in goal, whilst also challenging and competiting for the Hibees no.1 jersey. An opportunity the young Englishman is relishing.

“It is an unfortunate situation with Kevin’s injury which is part of the reason why I am here now. But I am excited to compete for the no.1 shirt and I am looking forward to getting stuck in.

"It is also a great opportunity for me to learn from one of the top 'keepers in the game.

“I want to fight for the jersey, just like any 'keeper would. There is only one 'keeper that can start but I will give it my all in training to support everyone.

"Whether I am a number one or number two I will give it my all to support on a matchday and help the team."
