Molde FC play their senior football in Eliteserien - the top flight of Norwegian football.

Our opponents, Molde U19 secured their spot in the UEFA Youth League after winning their respective domestic cup.

UEFA Youth League History

This is the first time that Hibs have competed in the UEFA Youth League since the competition began in 2013.

Molde last competed in the UEFA Youth League in 2018/19, where they were beaten 14-1 over two legs by English Premier League side Chelsea.

Before that, they competed in the 2017/18 edition of the competition where they beat University College Dublin and Moldovan side Zimbru before losing to Monaco in the final play-off round.

The Aker Stadion

Molde FK play their home games at the Aker Stadion - an 11,000 seater stadium that sits on the Moldefjord’s riverfront.

The ground is one of the most modern football stadiums in Norway, having first opened in 1998.

It is likely that the Hibees will face Molde FK U19 at the Aker Stadion which is an all-weather astroturf surface.

Hibs History With Molde

We have never played Molde FK in a competitive European fixture at age-grade level.

However, Hibs supporters will remember the First Team facing the Norwegian side in a Europa League Third Round Qualifying tie back in August 2018.

After a 0-0 draw at Easter Road, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Molde side came out on top in the second leg thanks to a brace from an 18-year-old Erling Haaland.
