The Hibees are back in action this Thursday (15 December) as we take on Rangers at Ibrox in what will be our first cinch Premiership match will be following the winter World Cup break.
During the break, the Hibs First Team played several bounce matches and friendlies against the likes of Raith Rovers and Middlesbrough to ensure they maintained their fitness levels ahead of the crucial second half of the cinch Premiership.
Speaking to Hibs TV, Magennis told us how beneficial the break has been and insists the lads are in good spirits heading into a key part of the season.
“We are all buzzing to get our league campaign back up and running again. To be honest the break probably came at a good time for us after a few bad results.
“It has been good to be able to regroup and have a few solid weeks of training under our belt.
“We’ve been trying to maintain our fitness levels over the last few weeks and get a few of the guys back up to speed. We’ve had a few bounce games and friendlies which have been good for working on our shape, organisation and getting minutes into the legs of a few of the lads.
“The likes of Kevin Nisbet and Aiden McGeady are both back training and playing for us which has been really good, they are big players for us and will be important for the second half of the season.”

The Hibees restart their cinch Premiership campaign this Thursday against Rangers (8pm kick-off at Ibrox), before hosting Livingston and Celtic over the festive period before the New Year’s Edinburgh Derby at Tynecastle.
The 24-year-old is looking forward to what will be a busy, but exciting fixture schedule over the next few weeks.
“These are the types of games you want to be playing in. We’ve got both of the Old Firm, Hearts away and a big game against Livingston on Christmas Eve – these are all massive games and ones you look forward to as players.
“We know it will be a huge test on Thursday, Rangers have a new Manager in the door so they will all be trying to prove a point to him and looking to impress.
"We’ve got a point to prove as well, to ourselves, so we are looking to go there and match them.”
