Earlier today we received the news that we have been shortlisted in the 'Inspiring Partnership' category for the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards (#ECCAwards22) for our partnership with the NHS during the pandemic.
During the pandemic, we teamed up with NHS Lothian’s official charity partner, Edinburgh & Lothians Health Foundation, raising money to support projects designed to help the hard-pressed NHS heroes who have worked tirelessly through both waves of the coronavirus pandemic.Since the pandemic began, we have raised over £42,000 and counting for the charity. These funds have been used to support NHS staff in various ways with the money being invested in providing more quiet spaces for NHS staff to relax, and projects which have provided much needed psychological support to staff.
Our 'Thank You NHS' initiative began in 2020 and raised money for the charity in various different ways. Playing shirts were printed with the 'Thank You NHS' messaging, with profits going to the charity. As matches were played behind closed doors, fans were able to create their own cardboard cut-outs that sat in Easter Road, whilst simultaneously donating to the NHS. Keepie Uppie Challenges, auctions, face mask donations were all collated and funds sent to the NHS to support hospitals in Edinburgh that needed it most.
In December 2021, we celebrated our inspiring partnership with the NHS at our cinch Premiership match with Motherwell at Easter Road. The 'Thank You NHS' themed game saw hundreds of NHS staff and frontline workers attend the match free of charge to support the team and celebrate the inspiring partnership between Hibs and the NHS.
