Shaun Maloney analyses the task ahead of his side as they face Rangers at Ibrox.

We take on the Gers in our latest cinch Premiership game on Wednesday evening; 7.45pm kick-off.

Rangers come into this one in good spirits after an emphatic win over Hearts at the weekend.

When speaking ahead of this one, Maloney explained what he expects from Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's side.

“It's a big challenge. It's a great game for the squad. So yeah, big challenge, but we have to look forward to it.

“I went to the game against Hearts and they were very dominant, created a lot of chances, but it's up to us to try and impose our game.

“They’re a very good side that can play many different ways. They can be more direct into Morelos and play off him.

“They’ve got really good midfielders that can run past him, so they can do everything really. They've got lots of different attacking threats with whoever they play in midfield positions and wide, so yeah, we have to be at our very best out of possession and try to limit the chances that we give them.”

The focus, however, is on how Maloney’s side performs and they’ve relished the challenge of playing against sides above them in the cinch Premiership during his tenure.

“I think we have to draw on the positivity whenever we played somebody above us, we've certainly held our own and at times played very well. I think we have to look at that again for the Rangers game.

“We have to take the level of fight and the spirit, that has to be the bare minimum, into every game. When we play against the top teams, we show that, and we show bravery in possession. We have to do that every game.

“We have to be at our very best in and out of possession and when we create chances, and we have to be as clinical as possible. That's been the difference in the last few weeks and it's going to be even more important when we play against the top teams in the league. We have to be very brave.”
