Our Manager has been without a number of his key men of late, but has been boosted ahead of the trip to Ibrox as three of those could be ready to start.

“Matt Macey is now training fully, and Josh Doig the same. I pushed them hard to try and get in the squad for St Mirren and now they're fully training and available for selection like everyone else.

“Paul McGinn’s absolutely fine again. He was one I pushed, but now he's training fully so he is available to start the game.”

Maloney is, however, missing Joe Newell, Paul Hanlon, and Kyle Magennis.

“Joe is unfortunately struggling. It doesn't look like he'll make it. We are taking Paul Hanlon game by game, but I think it might be too soon again. With Kyle there’s still no real change. He'll be still three or four weeks.”

One man that Shaun Maloney hasn’t been able to call on yet is Harry Clarke. The attack-minded right-back joined us on loan from English Premier League side Arsenal, but picked up an injury during the winter break.

“I’m in contact with Harry quite a lot; he's still progressing. It’s a long one, a long injury and it's a really bitter blow. He was a really exciting signing for us, so that was very difficult losing him after a week.

“We're hoping to see him, if everything goes to plan, maybe the game before the international break or the game after. It'll be great to get Harry back in the squad.”
