Jacob Blaney and Oscar MacIntyre have both been named amongst the substitutes for first time for the First Team squad.
Both Oscar and Jacob have been training with the First Team recently and have caught Shaun Maloney’s eye with their impressive performances.
Oscar MacIntyre is a left-footed defender who can play left-back, wing-back or left wing. He has trained regularly with the First Team this season and has been rewarded for his hard work this year with a place on the bench.
Jacob is a ball-winning central defender. He joined the Hibees when he was 10 years-old and he has been playing U18 football since the age of 14. Jacob has been out injured for the majority of this season but since the turn of the year he is back to full fitness and has played twice for the U18s.
Upon the news that the teenagers were included in the squad, Hibernian FC Academy Director, Steve Kean commented:
“Both teenagers have real technical ability and it is great to see them amongst the First Team squad.
“Jacob is a tall, quick, defender who is brilliant in a 1v1 defensive situation.
“Oscar is a very coachable young man, he has got a great delivery on him. Oscar has probably been involved in First Team training more than any of the Academy boys this year so it is good that his performances in training have been recognised.
“It should be a great experience for both the young lads and hopefully the first of many appearances in the First Team squad.”
