Born in Stjørdal, Norway, on 31 December 2002, Melkersen started his football journey at FK Bodø/Glimt and burst onto the international scene aged just 16 years, two months and 23 days for Norway’s Under-17s. He earned six caps and scored two goals during the process.
Aged just 16, he made his debut for FK Bodø/Glimt. He came off the bench in an 8-0 win over Aga IL in the NM-Cup.
Shortly after he made the step up to earn caps for Norway’s Under-18s before his first loan spell to gain more first team football. He scored four goals in just seven games for IL Hödd.

The following season, in 2021, Melkersen went out on loan again and flourished, showing why he’s been dubbed as one of the brightest talents in Norway.
With Ranheim IL, he scored 19 goals in just 29 matches, and averaged a goal every four shots. During that loan spell he played as a striker, on the left wing, right wing, and, at times, in the number 10 role.
His fine form also saw him earn a call-up to the Norway U20 side as an 18-year-old. He earned four caps and scored three goals at that level.
The young striker is quick, has good movement and certain has an eye for goal.
