Mackay will join up with Killie for the remainder of the 2021/22 season, who are looking to secure promotion back to the cinch Premiership at their first time of asking under new boss Derek McInnes.
The 20-year-old signed for Hibs from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in May 2021, on a four-year deal.
Since joining the Hibees, Mackay has made six competitive appearances and scored in our 2-1 victory over FC Santa Coloma in Andorra back in July.
