THE LOWDOWN

We are excited to welcome fans back to Easter Road for the first time in 2022 as we begin our Scottish Cup campaign. After reaching the Scottish Cup Final last year, we will be hoping to go one better this time around.

Shaun Maloney suffered his first defeat as Hibs boss on Monday night, a 2-0 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead and is looking to bounce back quickly with a positive result in the cup.

We take on League One side, Cove Rangers, in the fourth round of the competition - who currently are eight points clear at the top of the table, looking for their third promotion in four years.

TEAM NEWS

We will be without the services of Paul McGinn and Ryan Porteous who are still serving suspensions.

New signings, Chris Mueller and Ewan Henderson could make their Hibernian debuts, but we are still awaiting for confirmation of a work permit for Norwegian teenager, Elias Melkerson.

Harry Clarke is unfortunately unavailable after he suffered a hamstring injury in training. Kyle Magennis is still working his way back to full match fitness.

THE VISITORS

Cove entered the Scottish Cup in the third round of the competition. They beat Queen of the South 3-0 in a replay at Palmerston Park after their initial tie resulted in a 2-2 draw.

The team from Aberdeen are managed by former Hibee, Paul Hartley who is currently enjoying a 15-game unbeaten run stretching back to October.

Cove made the step up from the Highland League in 2019 and have a strong squad including former Hibee and 2016 cup-winning midfielder Fraser Fyvie.
