We welcome League One side, Cove Rangers to Easter Road on Thursday 20 January, 2022; 7:45pm kick-off.

After reaching the final of the Scottish Cup in 2020/21 and the League Cup Final earlier this season, the Hibees defender insists the squad is motivated to go one step further this time around.

Speaking to HibsTV, Stevenson told us:

“In recent years we have had really good runs in the cup. We don’t take any games for granted.

We know it is going to be tough but we know that if we win three or four games then we are going to Hampden so that is the motivation. This year we would love to go one step further.

“It is always a good atmosphere under the lights at Easter Road. It will be interesting for the fans to see our new style of play as well. Hopefully they can enjoy it and get behind the team because it does make a massive difference to us as players.”

We face high-flying Cove Rangers, who are currently eight points clear at the top of cinch League One and enjoying a fifteen game unbeaten run stretching back to October 2021. Stevenson says Hibs are weary of the threat, the League One side pose.

“We know it is going to be a tough game. We have some tactical things that we have been looking at so preparations have been going well.

“They are absolutely flying in their league. We played them last season and they were really good. We were probably lucky to come away with a win that day so we know how tough it is going to be on Thursday.

“We need to put our stamp on the game from the start. We know that if we are not 100% on it then they can cause us problems."
