THE LOWDOWN

This Saturday we welcome Livingston to Easter Road for a 3pm kick-off in the cinch Premiership.

Shaun Maloney’s side were held to a 0-0 draw with Motherwell on Wednesday and will be looking to take home all three points this weekend to help our battle for the all-important European places.

As things stand we currently sit fifth on 30 points, two points behind Motherwell in fourth.

Since joining The Hibees in late December, the new boss has overseen two wins, one draw and one defeat so far in the cinch Premiership. As well as successfully guiding us into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.

TEAM NEWS

Maloney will once again be without defender Harry Clarke who misses out through injury. Kyle Magennis will also miss this weekend as he works his way back to full match fitness.

Paul Hanlon missed out in midweek due to injury (heel), and is working his way back to full fitness for Saturday.

Having served his three-match suspension, Ryan Porteous will be back available for selection.

THE VISITORS

Livingston currently sit ninth in the cinch Premiership table, eight points above bottom of the table, St Johnstone.

David Martindale’s side put on a defiant performance in their last league game but ultimately fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of league leaders Rangers.

Despite a tricky start to the 2021/22 season, Martindale’s side have improved greatly in recent months, picking up four victories and one draw in their last seven matches.

Livingston striker, Bruce Anderson, will be a player to keep an eye on this weekend as the forward already has seven goals and three assists so far in the league this season.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Our last encounter with Livingston came in early December at the Tony macaroni Arena in a match that saw Martindale’s side pick up a 1-0 victory with the goal coming from Jack McMillan in the early in the first-half.

The last time we met Livingston at Easter Road was back in August. The game ended in 2-0 victory for Hibs with Kevin Nisbet and Martin Boyle grabbing the goals on the day.
