A brace each from Joe Newell and Ewan Henderson earned his side three points in what was a comfortable victory for the Hibees.
When speaking after the game, our Manager gave his thoughts on the performance.
“It was straight-forward in the end. I was pleased. I thought it was a very professional performance.
“To score four goals and create a lot of opportunities is what was needed.
“There was no room for error in this game given our Falkirk scoreline, so it was important we came away victorious.”
Johnson demanded a ‘A-Class’ attitude from his players after the midweek defeat.
His Hibees took that on board, got an early goal, and showed it through a number of different disciplines.
“It wasn’t just about the early goal, it was about getting into shape quick, the tempo of the game, winning tackles, and we did.
“We treated it like was a competitive game and there were some nice goals in there as well.”
It’s still early days in terms of the Johnson-era, but he explained to Hibs TV, how pleased he is with his players’ output so far.
“I’m always learning about the players and there’s still a lot of work to be done. It’s not just something that you can do over a pre-season, it has to be integrated over a long period of time. The recruits you bring in have to fit that system and philosophy too.
“There’s a lot of positives at the moment and the boys have to keep that momentum, building on their performances and understanding each other because it’s them on the pitch that make the decisions.
“Good players make good decisions, so we need ours to make more good ones than bad ones.”
