Megwa has been reaping the rewards of the Dev Squad programme as he’s different elements of his game is constantly being tested.
Speaking to hibernianfc.co.uk after the match, Kanayo gave his thoughts on the game and highlighted how the youngsters’ patience paid off.
“We tried to play better in the second half because in the first half they defending deepand it was hard to break them down.
“In the second half we managed to move the ball a bit quicker and managed to get a goal, and from there the momentum started building and we scored three.”
Megwa spent last season in the U18s and played a key role in the heart of the defence for Gareth Evans’ title winning side.
This season he has made the step up to the Development Squad and explained how beneficial it’s been for him already.
“It is a lot more physical because we play against a lot of ex pros, so we get the idea of how fast and how demanding the game will be if we get into the First Team.
“This match is a good opportunity for us to see if we can cope with the demand and the physicality of the game.”
