Jamie McAllister has joined Hibernian FC as Assistant Manager. The 44-year-old Glaswegian has begun work at the Club immediately having joined Lee Johnson’s backroom team as we gear up for the 2022/23 cinch Premiership campaign. Johnson and McAllister have a strong relationship that stems from their playing days at Bristol City and has since gone into their coaching careers. Playing over 650 professional games before hanging up his boots, McAllister’s first route into coaching was at Ashton Gate becoming the Robins’ Under-23s Coach, before he quickly progressed to Assistant Manager under Lee Johnson. The pair enjoyed continuous progression at Bristol City both on and off the pitch before linking back up when Johnson was appointed at Sunderland. With the Black Cats, they won the Club their first trophy in 14 years.

Hibernian legend David Gray will continue in his role as First Team Coach. The former Hibs captain, who wrote his name in folklore when he scored the winning goal in the 2016 Scottish Cup Final against Rangers, hung up his boots last summer after making 177 appearances in green and white, scoring 15 goals. Upon retirement, he immediately joined the backroom team in his current position, working under Managers Jack Ross and Shaun Maloney over the last 12 months. The 34 year-old was also called upon to step up as Caretaker Manager on two occasions, which included leading the First Team in the Premier Sports Cup Final in December. A highly-rated young coach, he will be an integral part of Lee Johnson’s staff in 2022/23 and beyond.
