Over the summer four youngsters put pen-to-paper and signed new contracts with the Club. Kanayo Megwa, Jacob MacIntyre, Tom Carter and Josh McCulloch all signed new deals that will keep them with Hibernian FC until 2023. All four will train and play for Steve Kean’s Development Squad this season.

There are several members of last season’s U18 CAS Elite Youth League winning team included in the squad that aims to bridge the gap between U18 and First Team football.

Jacob Blaney, Josh McCulloch, Oscar MacIntyre, Murray Aiken, Robbie Hamilton, Josh O’Connor, Malik Zaid, Connor Young and Murray Johnson have all graduated from Gareth Evans’ U18s team and will make the step up to the Hibs Dev Squad.

Hibs legend, Darren McGregor will form part of the squad in a new player/coach capacity. The 36 year-old confirmed his new role last week and will help lead the team on the field whilst also supporting in a coaching role alongside Steve Kean and Gareth Evans.

João Baldé and Allan Delferrière are also included in the squad, alongside Emmanuel Johnson who has returned to Hibernian FC after a successful loan spell at Charleston Battery.

Another Hibee who has returned from a positive loan spell is Jack Brydon. The central defender rejoins the Hibees after returning from newly promoted Edinburgh City. Fellow centre-back and new signing Kyle McClelland will also join the set-up.

There are several members of the current U18 squad that will also play up in the Development Squad this year, including Alfie Smith, Rudi Molotnikov, Owen Hastie, Ethan Laidlaw, Jacob MacIntyre and Harry Wright.
