It was the first big disappointment of the season for our Wee Hibees, who were unbeaten in all competitions until this point.
Our youngsters were 2-1 ahead with 20 minutes to go, but unfortunately fell to a 4-2 defeat, which stopped a trip to Hampden Park in the final.
Blaney, who has played a key role for the U18s this year, spoke to hibernianfc.co.uk and alaysed where the game went wrong.
“We were just too deep,” admitted the centre-back. “We didn’t get up the pitch and didn’t play our usual game.”
“We didn’t start the same as what we usually do, we usually have high pressure and don’t sit as deep. We have to learn from this experience and that’ll help us as we develop.”
Attentions, however, are now firmly fixed on the league campaign – a competition where the wee Hibees still remain unbeaten.
Despite the obvious disappointment of being knocked out of the cup competition, the 17-year-old is focused on coming away with the league title this year.
“We just need to focus on our next game, put this behind us and move onto the league.”
