THE LOWDOWN

Shaun Maloney's side come into this fixture off the back of our Scottish Cup Quarter Final win over Motherwell at the weekend.

Elias Melkersen scored two goals on his first start for the Club to fire us into the semi-finals of the competition.

The win means we extend our unbeaten run in all competitions to six games (three wins and three draws), keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Saturday's match carries extra significance as the battle to finish inside the top six intensifies with just three games to go before the split.

We currently sit fourth in the cinch Premiership on 37 points, however, only five points separate ourselves and tenth-placed Aberdeen.

TEAM NEWS

Shaun Maloney has been boosted by the return of several First Team players in the last week.

Joe Newell made a welcome return to the starting XI against Motherwell and had a fantastic impact in the middle of the park. Matt Macey was also involved at the weekend after recovering from an illness that kept him out for a couple of weeks.

Club Captain, Paul Hanlon, has been back on the training pitch ahead of our trip to Pittodrie and Rocky Bushiri will be available for selection after serving his two-match suspension.

Both Josh Doig and Ewan Henderson limped off at Fir Park and are currently being assessed ahead of the weekend.

Longer-term absentees include Harry Clarke, Paul McGinn, Demetri Mitchell, Kyle Magennis and Kevin Nisbet.

THE OPPOSITION

Aberdeen are still waiting for their first win under new Manager, Jim Goodwin.

Former boss, Stephen Glass was sacked in February after a poor run of form that saw The Dons slip to tenth in the league and knocked out of the Scottish Cup at the hands of Motherwell.

The Dons have not won in their last 10 games (4 draws and 6 defeats), the latest of which was a 1-0 defeat at Ibrox.

One player to watch is American forward, Christian Ramirez, who has registered 10 goals and three assists this season.

HEAD TO HEAD

We have played Aberdeen twice this season in the cinch Premiership. The Dons won the first encounter 1-0 at Pittodrie in October 2021. Christian Ramirez scored the only goal of the game as we finished the game with 10 men after Darren McGregor was dismissed in injury time.

We were victorious, however, when the two sides last met in December. Ryan Porteous fired in a bullet header to give Shaun Maloney a winning start in his first match in charge of the Club.
