THE LOWDOWN
Hibernian Women are back in Park’s Motor Group SWPL 1 this weekend action as they host Hearts at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday for the third Edinburgh derby of the season.
Following a 7-1 victory over Motherwell last weekend, Dean Gibson’s side will be full of confidence coming into this weekend’s derby.
WE STAND WITH UKRAINE
This Sunday Hibernian Women will take a stance against the scenes of devastation in Ukraine. During this weekend's match, players and staff will wear the colours of the Ukrainian flag to show that we stand together with the rest of the football community to demonstrate support for the people of Ukraine.

We will have a bucket collection at the match on Sunday as well as a Just Giving page set up, from Monday, for people who cannot make it along to the game.
After the game has finished on Sunday, you can secure one of the player’s jerseys through our auction site. This will be through a mix of donations of £5 raffle as we will auction some jerseys through donations to the Just Giving page.

We want to play our part in solidarity with all Hibernian supporters in supporting the Dnipro Kids Appeal, the charity set up by Hibernian fans in 2005.
Ukraine needs our support, and we want to respond!
Thank you to Hibernian Football Club, Pitch Team Wear and our sponsor MB Media for their support in helping us raise funds for Ukraine, “We Stand Together”.

Dean Gibson has shared his thoughts ahead of this weekend’s derby and has explained why he is happy to have Eilidh Adams back in the side.
“Last week’s performance was excellent, and one that we needed. We got a perfect reaction to the week before. Have we played as well as that before this season? - yes. The difference was we converted a large amount of the chances we created which takes the heart out of the opposition. It’s now about building consistency.
“We are in good spirits. We love big games and as a Hibs player/coach, they don’t get any bigger than these ones. Both sets of players understand what it means when these two clubs play each other.
“We are expecting an extremely tough challenge. The last game at Tynecastle was one of our most difficult this season. Hearts are a well-organised side that isn’t easy to break down. They also have a good threat at the other end of the pitch. We will need to be at our best to come away with 3 points.
“Eilidh is a young player but an important one to our squad. So, to have her back naturally is a good feeling & makes us stronger. She has the ability to impact the game from the start or the bench as she’s shown a few times this season.”
As well as speaking about the upcoming game against Hearts, Dean Gibson has also shared his thoughts on Hibernian Women’s stance against the scenes of devastation that is going on in Ukraine.
“When Stewart (McGuire) told me this is what we were doing this week there was no conversation to be had. We are more than happy to be showing our support to Ukraine. It’s only a small gesture but when loads of small gestures happen all over the world, they turn into something big. It’s important the whole world shows that we are standing with the people of Ukraine during a horrendous time. Some things are bigger than football.”

Eilidh Adams has scored in both Edinburgh derbies this season and will be looking to make it three out of three this Sunday.
“Last Sunday was my first league game back following injury so I was pleased to get a solid amount of game time. Scoring the two goals was great for me and for my confidence and a performance I will work hard to keep building on.
“Our bond and determination as a team has been further strengthened by the highs and lows of the last few games. After our performance against Motherwell, we will go into Sunday excited and confident that we can perform and get the result.
“We’re used to Hearts playing a physical game however, we are confident that if we execute our game plan, give 100% and turn up with the right mentality then we will win.
“For me, the Edinburgh derby is always a special occasion, but when the whistle blows on Sunday, we’ll be focusing only on our game plan and on taking all 3 points.”
