The 40-year-old has over 450 games as a Manager under his belt, having managed in the English Football League for the best part of the last 10 years.
This will be Johnson's first managerial job in Scotland, having put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal earlier this week.
Speaking to Hibs TV in his first interview for the Club, the former Sunderland boss told us how excited he was to manage north of the border.
"Since leaving Sunderland, I have been waiting for the right fit for me - I have played in Scotland before so I understand the passion and expectation that comes with a club like Hibs.
"I will commit fully to this football club. I will commit to the area, I’ll commit to the people, the players and give everything I have got.
One thing that attracted Johnson to the job was the Hibernian FC fanbase, and the Englishman believes the Hibs fans will play an important part in his plans for next season.
“I want to see this stadium packed out; I want to bring an identity to this football club.
"I want the fans to be a big part of our identity, I want to see them encouraging the way we play and to become part of the performance.
"When you crack that, you can be really powerful and have good success in Scotland.
“I have enjoyed learning about the history of the Club and I will continue to learn more about it. I am a bit of a history geek to be honest and I enjoy getting into the psyche of the fanbase and looking back at the historical routes of the Club.
"It makes you feel like you are a part of something bigger than just football."
