Supporters were asked to nominate their Unsung Hero and there was an overwhelming number of submissions for Stevie Carr.
For those that may not know Stevie, he is the Chairman of Dnipro Kids and risked everything to help evacuate 48 children from Ukraine and bring them to Scotland.

After lifting the inaugural award, the huge Hibee said: “I’m very humbled to receive it to be honest with you.
“It’s great and I’m over the moon with it. I’m lost for words. The reception I had out there was absolutely fantastic. It’s great to have that from supporters for doing something that I don’t think is something extraordinary. I’m just doing what I can do.”
To anyone other than Stevie, though, what he did was extraordinary. From setting up Dnipro Kids, supporting orphanages, to taking them to safety, Stevie is an inspiration.
“For me it’s been surreal,” as he looked back on the last few months. “At times I’ve questioned whether it’s actually happening.
“In regard to the kids, they’re safe and that was always the priority, to make sure they’re safe. They’re doing ok, having a good time and that’s all we can hope for.”

On the same day as winning this award, he had a special moment earlier on. He brought the 48 children to his home, Easter Road, where they could see some of the fantastic Hibernian FC supporters that have supported the charity.
“For many, many years I’ve wondered how we can get the kids over the Easter Road. It’s in horrendous circumstances how it’s happened but the fact that its happened is phenomenal.
“It’s been a fantastic day for me and an even better one for the kids.”
