Captain of the 1972 League Cup winning team, Pat joins an already elite line-up alongside Rob Jones (2007 League Cup Captain) and David Gray (2016 Scottish Cup Captain) who are already confirmed as guests for the special celebration event - with one more former player still to be confirmed!
‘An Audience With Our Cup Winning Legends’ event takes place on Thursday 17 November, from 6pm in the Edinburgh Club hospitality suite at Easter Road.

In addition to Pat, we can now confirm Barrie Wilkins and Grant Stott as our hosts for the evening. Both are lifelong Hibs fans and are well-known figures at the Club – with Barrie heading up our matchday announcements and entertainment at Easter Road; and Grant, an accomplished actor, DJ and broadcaster in Scotland.
Pat Stanton
There is no doubt Pat Stanton is a Hibernian FC legend.
The 78-year-old has had a long association with the club from standing in the terraces as a supporter, to pulling on the famous green jersey, and to leading them out as the Club’s Manager. Pat has done it all.
Pat made over 400 appearances for Hibs and Captained the Club to our first major cup win in 70 years – winning the Scottish League Cup in 1972.
Stanton led by example in the final – scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 victory over Celtic in front of 71,000 supporters at Hampden Park.
Stanton enjoyed 12 successful seasons with the Club before finishing his career at Celtic. He would later go on to take charge of Hibs in the early 1980s.
