Scoring a late equalizer, and then scoring in the shootout to secure the inaugural Capital Cup, the American was proud with her team’s performance.

“I was really proud with the effort the girls put in, we were going in hard on tackles and going in brave on the ball, I’m really happy with that.”

"In terms of league play, we were going for the win, but in terms of the Capital Cup, that’s what we wanted. It was great experience to be in a penalty shootout together, and with Siobhan bringing it home, what could be better?”

A record 8,066 crowd attended the match and Thomas was hopeful that this would lead to new records being set later down the line.

“I knew that this crowd was Hibs through and through, and it felt so awesome to get the goal, and the crowd were so loud, it was fantastic. Just having those fans gives you energy and gives you that extra push when you need it.”

“It was more than just about this game, it was fantastic to have that many fans at a domestic league game, we want it to grow, so thanks to everyone who came out tonight, and hopefully it’ll be better for the next generation of players.”

With Hibs visiting Glasgow City next week and a cup final at Tynecastle the week after, the American appealed to fans to continue supporting the team through the next couple of fixtures.

“Please come out to both games, we need you and we love having you. If you come out, we’re going to perform for you. It gives us that extra edge and we love it"
