After defeat to Rangers in the Scottish Youth Cup last week, the wee Hibees bounced back with a win over Celtic in the CAS Elite U18 Youth League.

Two goals in the second half from Dean Clelland and Ethan Laidlaw secured all three points for Gareth Evans' side.

It was the home side that made the better start of the two sides with Hibs goalkeeper Freddie Owens called into action on a handful of occasions inside the opening twenty minutes.

The wee Hibees first real chance came midway through the first half, Jay McGarva met Rudi Molotnikov's free-kick but his effort was blocked by a Celtic defender.

The hosts had a few snapshots at goal towards the end of the first half but couldn't hit the target and it remained goalless heading into the break.

Hibs came out flying in the second half and thought they had broken the deadlock, but it was chalked off for offside.

Minutes later, however, Hibs opened the scoring through Dean Clelland. The Hibs attacker latched onto a pass from Ethan Laidlaw before slotting it past the Celtic 'keeper to give his side a 1-0 lead.

As the clock began to run down in the second half, Celtic pushed for an equaliser which eventually came from a set-piece.

But the wee Hibees showed their spirit and retook the lead moments later, this time through Ethan Laidlaw - adding a goal to his assist earlier in the match.

Rudi Molotnikov was at the heart of the action once more and he slipped in Laidlaw with an excellent through ball. Running through one-on-one, Ethan set himself before lifting the ball over the Celtic 'keeper in expert fashion.

That proved to be the winning goal and the wee Hibees left Glasgow with all three points.
