The U19s did the whole Club proud as they saw off a strong Molde side on penalties (5-4) to progress to the next round of the UEFA Youth League.

After a narrow 1-0 defeat in Norway in September, the wee Hibees bounced back with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Jacob Blaney and Malik Zaid to force a penalty shootout.

Steve Kean's side held their nerve, scoring all five penalties in the shootout and with the help of goalkeeper Murray Johnson who pulled off a crucial penalty save - which proved decisive.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Oscar MacIntyre shared his thoughts on what was a frantic night from start to finish. He said:

"It was an amazing night. We couldn't have had it any other way.

"Over the course of the tie, we had a gameplan - we had some tough moments but we stuck to it and thankfully came away with the win.

"There are some boys in the squad who have been here for six, seven, eight years and it has all just come together.

"We've achieved so much together as a group and it has been amazing to be able to show the fans tonight what we are capable of."

There were over 3000 Hibs supporters in attendance at Easter Road on what was a memorable night, and MacIntyre was full of praise for the supporters - in particular the singing section behind the goals.

"The fans were fantastic tonight and made the whole experience so much better.

"We're not used to having that many fans at our games - so it gave us an extra boost during the game and of course at the end, shooting towards them for the penalties."

From start to finish Oscar was excellent, putting in a huge shift up and down the left-hand side of the pitch. He was awarded man of the match for his efforts and slotted home the winning penalty to top off an eventful night for the Hibs full-back.

MacIntyre described his emotions as he was walking up to take that vital spot-kick.

"When I was walking towards it, I was just focussing on sticking to the spot that I had chosen beforehand. After I hit it, I fell to my knees because I thought I missed it, thank god it went in.

"I just love the big moments, that is what I am here for. As a group, we can go as far as we want - we have a great group of boys who have been together a while and we are all just enjoying the ride."
