Pilot Beer is a Leith based brewery, in 2011, Pilot's founders Matt Johnson and Patrick Jones met while studying for their master’s degrees in Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt, and soon started brewing together in Matt’s garage. From studying and home-brewing they quickly purchased a second-hand brewhouse, moved it to an industrial estate in Leith, and Pilot was born. After 4 years on Jane Street demand had outstripped capacity and Pilot moved to their current home in Stewartfield, where they produce familiar favourites like Leith Lager and Peach Melba Sour, alongside a constantly changing line up of irregular specials.
Speaking on the partnership Patrick Jones, Pilot director said: “We're absolutely delighted to be partnering with the Hibs Women’s team. It’s fantastic for two great Leith institutions to be working together, and we hope we can help contribute to great successes for the club, both on and off the pitch.”
Hibernian FC Finance Director, Chris Gaunt added: "We are so excited to be partnering with Pilot Beer. Women’s football has a great community following and partnering with Pilot allows us to continue to grow our fanbase by giving them a unique hospitality experience as well as support an independent brewery in Leith."
