The Hibees made it four wins on the spin with a hard-fought victory over Motherwell that lifts us up to third in the cinch Premiership.

Ryan Porteous scored the only goal of the game - a second-half header, shortly after Motherwell were reduced to 10 men when Connor Shields was sent off for a foul on Porteous.

Speaking after the match, Lewis Stevenson shared his thoughts with Hibs TV on the performance.

"The first 15 minutes was probably the best we have played all season. I was actually getting tired on the sidelines watching the ball go up and down.

"That is the way the Manager wants us to play and it was really good to watch.

"When you have attacking players with pace you are always going to cause teams problems.

"It was another great win, we had to hang on a bit at the end but the Manager has high standards and is still demanding more from us but we were pleased we managed to see the game out."

Stevenson came on midway through the second half as the Hibees saw out the game with a determined performance.

"I was told to go on to make sure we saw the game out and thankfully we did. At this stage, I am still enjoying my football, I am learning so much every day from him and his coaching staff.

"It is a good place to be a the moment. You can feel that around the place and around the dressing room and all around the stadium too."

Stevenson's involvement marked his 550th appearance in green and white, after first making his debut back in September 2005.

Reflecting on yet another milestone, the Hibs veteran remained as humble and grateful as ever.

"When I got 500 appearances I thought that would be my last milestone, so to get to 550 in a relatively short space of time after that has been good.

"I am not sure if I will get to another milestone, but to get to 550 is brilliant and to be part of this Club for so long has been great.

"I feel I am repeating myself as every 50 games I say the same thing. There has probably been times when I was injured that I thought that I might not make it to 550 but hopefully, there are a few left in the locker yes."
