‘It’s not the ideal game away from home. It’ll be a difficult game for that reason, on top of Aberdeen being a good side, they’ve got a good number of young players and experience to go along with it. It’s not going to be an easy game, but we’ve prepared as well as possible.’
‘They’ve had disappointing results, but that doesn’t mean their performances are low. They’ve probably felt hard done by in a couple games. They came close to Glasgow City, and they conceded soft goals at the weekend. They probably feel similar to us in that their league position doesn’t do them justice.’
‘We’re under no illusions that we’re going to go up against the best Aberdeen, and I’m sure that’s what we’re going to come up against.’
With his team having faced Rangers on Sunday, it is a quick turnaround for the girls as they head into another fixture. The manager has assured fans that the intensity of the schedule has not affected his players however.
‘They’ve recovered well. There’s not been a lot of pitch stuff, but a lot of information and a lot of recovery alongside stuff from the sports science guys, so it’s been a worthwhile couple of days.’
‘Nobody is back yet. Ava had a little but more in terms of pitch stuff, but she’s not quite ready to be in the squad. We’ve got no new injury though which is good’
Rachael Boyle was spotted returning to the training ground only 5 weeks after giving birth to her second child. The manager touched upon her attitude and resolve to return so quickly.
‘It’s a credit to herself that she’s shown that determination to get back, and also shows you the condition in how she lives her life in that she believes she can come back so quick. We’re not going to get her on the pitch anytime soon, but maybe sooner than we originally anticipated.'
‘It’s great for Rachel, we’ll definitely get her back this season. The sooner the better.’
