There were plenty of goals in Paisley on Friday night as Gareth Evans side got the better of St Mirren, winning 4-3 after extra time.

Ethan Laidlaw, Josh Landers and Reece Holden were all on target in normal time before Jackson Innes headed home in extra time to send Hibs into the next round.

Gareth Evans' side took the lead when Ethan Laidlaw fired in a freekick from the edge of the area - his second freekick goal of the week having scored from a dead ball situation for the Hibs Dev Squad on Tuesday.

The hosts hit back, equalising just before the break, before taking the lead early in the second half.

Josh Landers levelled things up almost instantly with a smart finish - drilling the ball back across goal and past the Saints 'keeper after the ball dropped to him in the area.

As the second half progressed both teams continued to battle on in challenging conditions in persistent heavy rain.

The Paisley side then retook the lead in the final ten minutes and looked to be heading through to the next round. But the Hibees and Reece Holden had other ideas, in the last few moments Hibs piled bodies forward and won themselves a corner.

Ethan Laidlaw did well to flick-on the set piece and Reece was in the right place at the right time to finish it off at the back post; 3-3 and into extra time.

The wee Hibees continued to look dangerous and got what proved to be the decisive goal in the first half of extra time. Once again, it came from a set-piece - this time Jackson Innes nodded home to seal the victory and book our place in the Scottish Youth Cup Third Round.
