THE LOWDOWN
The Hibees return to Easter Road for a cinch Premiership clash with Kilmarnock; 3pm kick-off on Saturday 3 September.
Hibs are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to St Mirren at The SMiSA Stadium.
Keanu Baccus’ early strike was the difference on Saturday as the possession-heavy Hibees were unable to find an equaliser.
The result means we currently sit 8th in the table on five points, one point ahead of this weekend's opponents, Kilmarnock.
THE HOSTS
Newly-promoted Kilmarnock were crowned champions of the Scottish Championship last season, pipping Arbroath by two points.
Killie come into this match following their Scottish League Cup victory away to Hearts in midweek. This followed a 2-1 win over Motherwell last weekend, their first win of the season after a tricky start that included losses to both Rangers (2-0) and Celtic (5-0).
Alongside an opening day draw with Dundee United, this means Derek McInnes's side are currently sat in 9th place on four points.
One player to watch is Kilmarnock no.31 Liam Polworth. The central midfielder pulled the strings at Tynecastle in midweek, providing an assist for the winner.
Fraser Murray and Oli Shaw may be familiar names to Hibernian FC supporters, with 63 appearances between them for the Hibees before they both arrived at Kilmarnock in 2021.
HEAD TO HEAD
The last time the two sides met was in the Scottish League Cup in August 2021. Hibernian ran out 2-0 winners, with goals from Kyle Magennis and Kevin Nisbet.
In fact, our record against Kilmarnock at Easter Road is very strong, having not lost since 2014.

Elias Melkersen and Lewis Stevenson returned to the matchday squad at the weekend however, the Hibees will be without longer-term absentees; Kyle Magennis, Kevin Nisbet, Demetri Mitchell, and Aiden McGeady.
