Jamie McAllister and Adam Owen will lead the team from the dug-out, alongside First Team Coach David Gray after it was announced Lee Johnson would miss the match through illness.

Speaking to Hibs TV, McAllister provided an update on Lee and how he would still be involved on Saturday, albeit from afar.

“I have been in constant contact with the Gaffer. He has been in quite bad pain for the last 7-10 days but I have been speaking to him often and it is good to hear now that he is on the mend and resting up at home.

“On Saturday we will be in constant communication with Lee, we will have him linked up with us during the game through our earpiece.

“As a group of staff, it is up to us to step up and make sure we get the best out of the players tomorrow.”

It has been a busy week for the Hibees, as we announced three new First Team signings on Deadline Day – with Harry McKirdy, Will Fish and Mykola Kukharevych all joining the Club in the last few hours of the summer transfer window. With our squad now complete, Macca is looking forward to focussing on the football.

“We got through deadline day and we got the players that we wanted.

“Now, our attention turns to this weekend and getting three points against Kilmarnock. Everyone is looking forward to the game – we are at home so we have to take the game to them, get on the front foot and cause them problems.

“We need to make we show our quality. As soon as you cross that white line we need to make sure we are right on it – we need to work hard, win our tackles and earn the right to play.

“We’ve got fans to entertain and points to go and win so we need to make sure we are all ready to go.”
