It was another memorable night under the lights at Easter Road as the Hibees pulled off an impressive 3-1 victory over Swiss side, FC Luzern, with three second-half strikes courtesy of Joe Newell, Jordan Obita and our latest recruit, Dylan Vente.

Vente celebrated his Hibs debut with a goal and an assist, describing the feeling of scoring his first goal in green and white as a true ‘goosebumps’ moment. He said:

“It was a great feeling, as a player when you make your debut you always want to score a goal – especially as a striker. So I am standing in front of you with a great feeling tonight.

“Adam put a good cross in for me and I just headed it in, to be honest, it was a great ball in and I cannot describe the feeling.

"It was a goosebumps moment for me. The fans were all excellent today and it was a great night tonight.”

The Hibs striker is already looking forward to the return leg and is keen to add to his tally after a promising start to his time in Leith.

“Hopefully, that is the first of many goals for me (at Hibs)! I enjoyed playing in the match, I am not the tallest guy in the world but I like to put pressure on my opponents and I play hard. It was a tough game but I really enjoyed it.

“We are in a good position with a 3-1 lead, but we are not in the next round yet. Next week is a very important game and it is up to go out there, perform well and do our job.”
