Admitting that she hoped she wouldn’t need to be called from the substitutes bench, Nina nonetheless remained unfazed by the circumstances surrounding her debut against Glasgow City, as she replaced Katie Fraine in goal midway through the first half.

“It’s obviously never ideal. Having a player sent off makes the rest of the game really tough, but you’ve always got to be ready. Me and Katie have had a really good relationship in pre-season, and we’ve pushed each other. We always felt that whoever was playing we would support them. It was about coming on and trying to steady the ship, add a bit of leadership and try and calm us down a bit.”

Saving a penalty with her first touch in Hibernian colours, Nina was happy to accept praise for her efforts, but insisted there would be similar moments to follow…

“As a goalkeeper I always do my research. I think it gave the team a little boost in terms of confidence as we saw out the half. After that it took two late goals to break us down. To kick off with a save is important… but that’s my job.”
