We’re back for the second season of the Capital Cup as Hibernian travel to Tynecastle to take on Hearts in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League. The iconic fixture provides the winner with the added bonus of lifting the Capital Cup trophy in front of their city rivals and claiming the bragging rights in Edinburgh.
Last season’s Capital Cup fixture at Easter Road saw a record-breaking crowd for the women’s domestic league with 8,066 in attendance.
This season, the first fixture will be played at Tynecastle Park on Sunday 10th September, with the reverse fixture being played at Easter Road in November.
Thanks to the generous support of Baillie Gifford, we can once again offer tickets free of charge to everyone who wants to play a part in helping us break the attendance record and support our Women’s team.
Tickets can be collected from the ticket office or booked online with the option to include a £1, £3, £5 or £10 donation – with the full amount being reinvested back into supporting the Hibernian Girls and Women’s Academy.

Hibs Women manager Grant Scott commented: “It’s great to have the opportunity to play at these stadiums thanks to the support of Baillie Gifford as we continue to enhance women’s football in Scotland.”
“Watching from afar, these occasions are special and add an extra element of excitement to the derby games and I know my players and staff are looking forward to it but it’s important that we remain focused on the next four league games.”
This season’s Capital Cup fixture, falls on World Suicide prevention day, and provides us the opportunity to continue raising awareness and support of SAMH The Changing Room project. The project has seen Big Hearts and the Hibernian Community Foundation team up to work towards one goal - bring people together through the power of football to help them take care of their mental health.
