THE LOWDOWN

The Hibees come into this one off the back of a poor run of form, having lost our opening three league games of the cinch Premiership.

That form forced a managerial change with Lee Johnson departing, so David Gray taking over as Caretaker Manager for the trip to Villa Park.

The Hibees have an uphill task at hand, having lost the first leg 5-0 a week previous.

The Villans were ruthless at Easter Road, with Ollie Watkins bagging a hat-trick with Leon Bailey and Douglas Luiz also on target.

The match kicks off at 8pm on Thursday 31 August, 2023 at Villa Park.

TEAM NEWS

The team will travel down to Birmingham on Wednesday before training at Villa Park in the afternoon.

David Gray will speak to the media at Villa Park and will provide a team news update ahead of the fixture.

Harry McKirdy, Chris Cadden and Jojo Wollacott all remain longer-term absentees and will miss this fixture.

ASTON VILLA

The hosts will come into this one full of confidence following their impressive start to the English Premier League.

Since their opening day defeat at Newcastle, Villa have won their last three matches in all competitions – scoring 12 goals in the process.

Villa boss, Unai Emery is no stranger to European Football having won the Europa League four times during his career as a Manager.

The Spaniard is clearly eyeing a shot at a fifth European trophy, having named a full-strength squad for the first leg at Easter Road.

HOW TO WATCH
