THE LOWDOWN

The Hibees travel to Glasgow in midweek, to play Celtic at Celtic Park – kick-off at 7.45pm on Wednesday 6 December.

Nick Montgomery’s side come into this one off the back of a run of three straight wins in the cinch Premiership.

Dylan Vente and Will Fish got the goals at the weekend in a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen, which followed wins over Kilmarnock (1-0) and Dundee (2-1).

David Marshall put in a man-of-the-match performance against The Dons, making five crucial saves – including a penalty save to deny Bojan Miovski.

That result extended our unbeaten run to six league matches – dating back to October – and has moved us up to fifth in the cinch Premiership on 21 points from 15 games.

THE HOSTS

Celtic currently lead the way in the cinch Premiership on 39 points and have an eight-point lead over Rangers in second place.

The Hoops are unbeaten so far in the league, having won 12 and drawn three of their opening 15 matches.

Most recently, they came from behind to win 3-1 away at St Johnstone with Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley and James Forrest on target at McDiarmid Park

Our only meeting with Celtic so far this season ended in a 0-0 stalemate at Easter Road in late October earlier this year.

TEAM NEWS

After serving a one-match suspension, Lewis Miller is back available for selection for our trip to Parkhead.

Jordan Obita missed our weekend’s clash with Aberdeen due to injury and will be closely monitored ahead of Wednesday.

Harry McKirdy, Jake Doyle-Hayes, Chris Cadden and Adam Le Fondre all remain longer-term absentees.

Despite picking up his sixth yellow card of the campaign on Sunday, Joe Newell will still be available for our game at Celtic Park. His one-match suspension will come into play when we face St Johnstone on Saturday 16 December, 2023.
