THE LOWDOWN

We are back at home for the highly anticipated Edinburgh Derby! The sold-out fixture kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday 27 December and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football.

Our return to Easter Road ends a spell of four away fixtures in a row during a busy December period.

During that time, we were beaten by Celtic (4-1) and St Johnstone (1-0) but won away at The Tony Macaroni Arena against Livingston (0-1). Our most recent fixture against Ross County was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.

We currently sit sixth in the cinch Premiership with 24 points from 18 games.

TEAM NEWS

With our match being postponed in Dingwall, it means the Hibees have had an extra few days to prepare for the Edinburgh Derby.

There are no fresh injury concerns. However, Chris Cadden, Adam Le Fondre, Harry McKirdy and Jake Doyle-Hayes will all miss the fixture due to injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Hearts come into this one off the back of a 2-0 win over St Mirren at the weekend. That was the Jambos' fifth league win in their last seven games which has lifted them to third in the cinch Premiership on 29 points from 18 games.

We are currently unbeaten in our last three Edinburgh Derbies (two draws, one win). Two goals from Elie Youan in the second half rescued a point at Tynecastle in a 2-2 draw back in October.

The last time the teams met at Easter Road, the Hibees emerged as 1-0 winners with Kevin Nisbet grabbing the crucial goal in April 2023.

With match tickets sold out, it means Ticket Exchange is now available – giving Season Ticket Holders who can’t attend the game the chance to release their seat and earn money off their 2024/25 Season Ticket.
