The long-standing tradition of serving Christmas Dinner to members of the local community continued this Christmas, as First Team Men's and Women's players, coaches, staff and volunteers all flocked to Easter Road for an afternoon of festive celebration, led by our Community Foundation.

Over 100 volunteers helped cook, pack, serve and deliver over 500 meals from Easter Road to members of the local community on Christmas Day. Around 360 meals were served from the hospitality suites at Easter Road in person, whilst the additional meals were delivered directly to homes in the surrounding area to those who could not make it to the stadium.

Members of the Men's and Women's First Team both helped with the service and also stayed behind to give out Christmas presents and chat with supporters who came for lunch!

Speaking to Sky Sports on Christmas Day, Mags McPherson - Chair of the Hibernian Community Foundation - commented:

“This event is all about getting everyone together on Christmas Day. We are here to serve the community and Easter Road and Hibs are absolutely central to that community in the Leith and the surrounding area.

"Everyone is welcome; we have had a few Ukrainians here today, and we have got people coming along who may have been spending Christmas alone so having some company is a massive thing for them.

“This is all paid for by donations from fans, Club sponsors and partners. So with the current cost of living, people have been able to come along, have a fabulous Christmas meal and not worry about the cost of it.

'We're delighted to have over 100 volunteers helping out, including the Gaffer, staff, and members of both the Hibs Men's and Women's First Team."
