A late goal from Élie Youan won all three points for the Hibees, which stretched the Club’s unbeaten run to five in the league.

And what made the win even more impressive was the fact that the Paisley side have been unbeaten on their own patch since their first home game of the 2022/23 campaign.

When speaking after the game, our Manager gave his thoughts on the result.

“I’m delighted with the win. It was a big game for us, and I wanted to finish a tough week with a positive result.

“We were buoyed by a sell-out away crowd and they were brilliant all game. They drove us on in the last 20 minutes when we needed that energy, so we’re grateful for that.

“It’s a really tough place to come with an excellent home record, so that means this is a fantastic win for us.”

The three points were confirmed by Youan – a man full of confidence has he continues to go from strength-to-strength in a Hibs shirt.

“His form is fantastic to see,” admitted Johnson. "When you bring foreign players over you never know how they will adapt. I thought he started well, but then slowed up a bit when the cold weather kicked in.

“Now he’s full of confidence, he looks like a top athlete, he can repeatedly sprint, and he’s put in the end product to the effort, which is great.

“It wasn’t just Élie, it was an excellent move, which Cadds started off, some fantastic work from Hendo – who was excellent when he came on – and we had the support in behind the forward players with the likes of Jimmy Jeggo, Paul Hanlon, and Lewis Stevenson on what was a big day for him.”

It certainly was a big day for Lewis Stevenson! He became the Club’s record league appearance holder and marked that 450th league match with a win.

“It’s amazing isn’t it. In this modern day and age that loyalty both ways is very unusual. To do it with a win is great.

“I think you can see how humble Lewy is as a human being, he’s fantastic to have around the place and he’s still going very strong.

“I’m delighted for him, and it correctly etches him in the history books as a Hibs legend.”

That’s seven points out of nine for the Hibees this week, and stretches a league unbeaten run for five, something Johnson is very happy about.

“We’ve done a lot of work behind-the-scenes, and I said to the boys today, there’s a lot of credit to them because I can start to smell a winning side, a winning culture and a winning environment.”
