Born in Motherwell on 3 October 1993, Devlin was in a number of academies in Scotland before breaking through at Hamilton Academical, where he was told he could have a quick pathway through to the First Team.
That was certainly the case as he made his senior debut in the Scottish Premiership aged just 16 against Rangers. Senior appearances for Hamilton came here and there, but it was on loan at Stenhousemuir where he gained regular game-time, until he fully broke through in the 2012/13 campaign. His first goal for the Accies came that season bagging in the Scottish Cup.

Devlin grew from strength-to-strength at Hamilton and was appointed as the Club’s Captain in August 2016.
Just over a year later, the defender moved to Aberdeen and gained his first taste of European football making his debut for the Dons in the Europa League against Burnley at Pittodrie. He made over 50 appearances for the Club, but injuries hampered his playing time.

In June 2022 he made the move down south to England and joined up with former Hibee Scott Brown at Fleetwood Town in League One. He made two appearances in the EFL Trophy at the start of the season, before his league debut came in the October against Barnsley. His last match day squad involvement for Fleetwood was in their FA Cup tie against Championship side QPR.

Devlin also has three Scotland caps to his name! He was called up to the senior side in October 2018, but made his debut almost a year later starting in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Russia. He played a full 90 against San Marino and came off the bench against Cyprus.
