A goal in each half from Will Fish and Matthew Hoppe respectively secured all three points for the Hibees in what was a dominant performance.
When speaking after the game, Johnson explained why he was so pleased with the performance.
“It was very satisfying and I’m very pleased with the professionalism from the players.
“I thought we started great on the front foot and there was some wonderful interplay, if not the finish at all times, but that’s the next step for the team.
“We were certainly solid behind the ball with Will Fish, Paul Hanlon, Marsh, and CJ and Jeggo in front of them securing the middle of the pitch, and that allowed everyone else to go and be creative. There were some really good patterns of play.”
That win also meant the Hibees have kept three clean sheets in the last four games – something the Manager has been keeping a close eye on.
“We’ve got to be obsessed with the clean sheets because we have to play with that structure, that solidarity and everyone has to put their body on the line.
“You could see the effort from CJ at the end of the game, we could’ve quite easily conceded and then seen out the last 30 seconds, but no, he was on the line putting his body on the line making sure he was mothering the goal.
“I was delighted with the clean sheet and I know the back four/five were as well.”
Hibs are now six unbeaten and are up to fourth in the cinch Premiership, and Johnson believes confidence is brewing within the squad.
“I want more options of course and I’ll get that when the injured players come back, but a manager will always tell you that. We’ve got to keep making decisions for the short, medium and long-term for the Football Club, and the boys have to bring their A-game.
“I’m proud of everyone for coming through the difficult spell, certainly against the odds because there were some that didn’t believe in us. We thank the ones that did and hopefully, these performances are repaying some of those bad times.”
