THE LOWDOWN

Following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Hearts Women at Tynecastle, the Hibees are back in SWPL 1 action on Wednesday as they play host to Aberdeen Women at Meadowbank Stadium – kick-off 7:30pm.

Prior to kick-off, there will be a minute of silence to pay tribute to the late Ron Gordon. Hibernian Women will also be wearing black armbands and their black kit as a mark of respect.

The draw at the weekend means that Dean Gibson’s side remain 5th in the SWPL 1 table, three points behind the Jambos in 4th.

With games coming thick and fast, Wednesday’s clash with Aberdeen Women could prove to be crucial for Hibs Women as they look to catch their rivals and break into the top four in the SWPL 1.

THE OPPOSITION

Aberdeen Women and Hibs Women have met once already this season in the league, on October 19th, in a match that saw Gibson’s side secure a 3-1 victory.

The Dons currently sit 10th in the SWPL 1 table on 14 points – one point ahead of Hamilton Women in 11th. This means that Wednesday’s clash with Hibs Women will be very important for Gavin Levey’s side as they look to move up the table.
