Lockwood joins the Hibees from Swedish side KIF Örebro where she has spent the last eleven months of her career.

A versatile player, Lockwood has the ability to play both in the midfield and upfront, making her an exciting addition to the Hibees.

Despite her age, the 24-year-old forward has already gained a vast amount of experience by playing across the world in countries such as Sweden and Cyprus. Whilst at Apollon Ladies in Cyprus, Lockwood both played and scored in the UEFA women’s Champions League.

Lockwood has spoken about joining Hibs Women, stating: “I’m really excited, can’t wait to get going and play for this club. I love to score goals and hopefully I can bring that to the team this year.”

Head Coach Dean Gibson Said: “I am delighted to bring Katie to the club, she’s a player that I feel suits the style we want to play at Hibs and will be a great fit for us. Equally I feel we are a great fit for Katie and hopefully be a good match all round.

It’s been no secret that we wanted to improve the final third. We have had a lot of territory in that area of the pitch during the first half of season and not made the most of it. I feel Katie will help bridge that issue.

We are excited by the way we are building and see Katie being here for the foreseeable. We are building for the long term which allows us some form of consistency both on and off the pitch.”
