The young, ambitious defender has had a taste of First Team action at Manchester City and Burnley and hopes that this loan move will help propel his promising career.

Knowing a loan move was on the cards, CJ had a number of options to choose from and he explained why Hibs stood out to him.

“I’m thrilled to get going. It’s a great club, fantastic supporters, historic place, and I’m buzzing to get started and to get some games.

“It’s such a passionate city about football, a great heritage in football, and the chance to play more men’s games.

“The gaffer spoke to me and told me that he wanted me to be a big part of his plans, that I’d get games and learn my trade more.

“It’ll be different because the Scottish league is different to England, but I’m ready for that and to learn from it.

“I think I can step up and make an impact here and do well here. I want to learn and enjoy this.”

Game-time was a huge driver for the centre-back. He made his debut for City in the English League Cup before going on to compete in the Premier League and Champions League, learning off some of the world’s best.

He now believes that playing regularly will help take his game to the next level.

“At this stage and this age, I feel ready that I can come into the men’s game and play week in, week out. I want to show everyone what I can do.”

But what can supporters expect from CJ?

“A technical ability and calmness in possession. Defensively I’m aware, read spaces well, but it’s all well and good me saying it, I know I need to show the fans that.”
