The home side started both halves well and took a two-goal lead before Joe Newell pulled one back in stoppage time to keep the tie in the balance ahead of the second leg next week at Easter Road.
Despite the late goal, Newell told Hibs TV how disappointed he was with the overall result on the night.
“It is hugely disappointing. It’s not a result we expected coming into this game. We had a great pre-season and we were well-prepared going into it. But we are hugely disappointed at the result and we are extremely angry at ourselves.
“We didn’t underestimate them at all, but we just didn’t start the game properly in terms of our tempo, aggression and we didn’t implement our style of play. That fed into their hands - a mistake led to their first goals and after that, they sat back and defended.”

Around 200 Hibees made the trip out to Andorra to support the team and after the match, Newell thanked them for their continued efforts and insisted that the players will respond positively to this defeat.
“As soon as we got back to the dressing room after the game, the first thing we said was it’s only half-time.
"We deserved the stick we got at the end of the game when we were walking off. On behalf of the team, we apologise to the fans because know much money people spent to get over here, especially in this day and age.
"We really do appreciate the support, we know how angry they will be so we say sorry to them - we know it’s not good enough.
"But the consolation is we know it’s only half-time in the tie and we are going back to Easter Road with only a one-goal deficit. I fully expect us to put in a much better performance that we expect of ourselves next week."
