The first British team to play in Europe will be back on the continent this Summer after we booked our place in the UEFA Europa Conference League Qualifiers following a fifth-place finish in the cinch Premiership last season.
With Celtic, winning the Scottish Cup it meant fifth place secured us European football this summer – entering the Europa Conference League Qualifiers in the Second Round.
This is the same stage we entered the last time we competed in this competition back in the 2021/22 campaign. Managed by Jack Ross, the Hibees beat Andorran side FC Santa Coloma (5-1 on aggregate) before being knocked out by Croatians HNK Rijeka in the third qualifying round (5-2 on aggregate).
Entering at this stage, the Hibees will likely be seeded – but the full makeup of the draw is still to be finalised. Lee Johnson’s side will find out who they will face when the draw takes place on Wednesday 21 June, at 14:00 (CET).
Our Europa Conference League Second Qualifying Round first leg takes place on Thursday 27 July with the second leg taking place the following week – on Thursday 3 August. We will not know if we are home or away until the draw is made in June.
Monday 24 July, 2023 could also be a key date for Hibs fans to look out for. On this date, the draw for the Third Qualifying Round of the Europa Conference League takes place, meaning we will know our opponents for the next round should we progress.
The Third Qualifying Rounds are due to take place on Thursday 10 August and Thursday 17 August.
Should we progress through qualifying rounds two and three, it means we would reach the final round before the Group Stage – the Play-Offs. The Europa Conference League Play-Offs are due to take place on Thursday 24 August and Thursday 31 August.
